Was at a Superbowl party and the hosts mother has tamales there, outstanding. I told her it was maybe the best I've had in awhile.. she ask me where I usually get em... hers were better than Manolos..not as good as Lily's

Rosa's #1 56th kedzie
Lily's #2 98th Ewing
Manolos #3 63rd Kilpatrick

Igloo cooler tamales from the tamale guy at Division & Damen bars always hit the spot, might've been the spicy rat-feces seasoning; esp after a weed-muffin from the bitch muffin lady.

Indeed.
A friend used to host a Tamale making party every year in March. Lots of fun.

I think there is too much dough/masa with little flavor and never enough meat for me. I’ll have one every now and then but hardly ever really seek them out.

Brookhaven's are good for grocery ones. It's now a luxury item because they have gone way up in price. I wasn't impressed with jewel's and can't remember how much they are.
