The best one is probably in Milwaukee, of which I have little knowledge. Ike should know it’s all about the supper clubs. While their steaks are decent, they are no where near up to Chicago standards.

i've had 2 disappointing draper brothers steaks. will not eat there again. Johnny Delmonicos was ok.

best restaurant in WI is Chetek Cafe and Meat Shop and it ain't even close.

Same family owns the Chicago Prime restaurants in Schaumburg. Went to school with the younger brother for 3 or 4 years. Older brother manages 5 o'clock. Haven't seen them for years. One of these days I'll make the time to see the younger brother. Didn't really know the older one.

Tornado and Del Bar are both great. At first glance their prices look comparable to Chicago, but they include sides which are always a huge markup in the better steakhouses. We used to enjoy Smokey’s Club as a classic, low ceiling and dimly lit 50s supper club but they were bought out and replaced by condos. The amount of construction in Madison is ridiculous.

Ever been to Cimaroli’s? It’s been recommended a number of times and we tried to go there last weekend. 1-1/2 hr wait at 5:00 pm and no room at the bar. Must be good but that’s ridiculous considering it’s pretty much all locals at this time of the year.

Place is amazing. Right on Lake Winnebago. Picnic benches all over the place serve as the seating area, only people inside are in the bar. Long wait and they only take cash.
Just don't get greedy and order the triple perch. My buddy did a few years back and had a rough next morning.
