I'd tell you half a dozen barrel-aged one-offs but you probably haven't heard of them.

cbs releases this friday.

i was still chugging keystone last time it was released in bloomington. so craft beer wasn't on my radar last time it was released. i thought this years kbs was whatever. so not really sure what to expect if i'm able to try cbs. i'm just going to catch it on tap somewhere. not worth hunting down.

i stopped at 2 jewels on my way to work and had zero luck. one was sold out b/c they sold them early and the other had a huge line. screw that noise.

i thought they made a ton to be distributed? the forced scarcity baloney is lame.

ah well, maybe next year. i got better shit to do than chasing trucks (like posting on CFMB :D )

Sav Way in Geneva has a dozen cases of regular BCBS on the floor.

The variants are nowhere to be found. That's why people go early on Black Friday.

Found me a nice little six pack tonight that makes me happy. Blend between IPA and wheat beer. Lagunitas little sumpin sumpin. Delicious.

Went to Corridor on Saturday and had one of their NEIPA/DDH beers - Mosaic Monsoon. Solid stuff. It was a tad too easy to drink. I needed a little something at the finish but it was enjoyable nontheless. I went to Corridor on Southport when it originally opened a couple years ago and remember nothing remarkable about the beer. I'll have to go back.

Empirical is a 10 minute walk from my apartment. Have given their taproom 3 tries in the past 2 months. I've had a variety of their stuff. Nothing stands out. It's not bad but none of their beers have been notable. Everything has been perfectly average.

That's what I had this weekend. They make a few styles I really enjoy, strong yet tasty

I love Backwoods Bastard and Breakfast Stout, but I don't know about making them year-round (or close to year-round for the latter). Even as seasonal releases I still see them sitting for most of the year on the shelves.

Backwoods is a little more scarce, so it will be nice to see year round. But you're right about Breakfast Stout. You can find that almost 9 months out of the year.

Beer ages from the liquor store to my fridge to my mouth. I am not building some burrito beer wine cellar. JK.

The beers are in boxes in the basement.

If I invited PittMike over when I crack my last BCBS 2012 I have down there I think he would change his mind.

I don't doubt your guys expertise. I really am just busting your chops. I simply do not have the time and energy to bother aging etc.

I have a pretty open mind with beer and would try just about any one once. If I were to be against something I would guess it would be something too fruity like berries. I am ok with cactus and grapefruit types however.

???

Step 1: buy beer
Step 2: place purchased beer in cool dark place
Step 3: forget beer exists
Step 4: drink months or years later

It literally requires less energy and time than actually drinking the beer.

It takes energy to resist drinking it?

give me a beer that doesn't taste like a beer...Not Your Father's Root Beer type thing...

I hate the taste of actual beer but I'd like to drink one. Currently, I like Blue Moon...

If there's a beer in the house it will be drunken. Or consumed. Whatever

I have managed to hang on to some Bourban county stuff from 2014. One proprietors, a couple stouts and a barley wine I think. Couple from 13 as well. It hasn’t been hard to keep from drinking but I imagine I’ll crack into them this year. Have a few from Revolution too. Always liked their Gravedigger Billy and Very Mad Cow.
