Sounding a little butt hurt on this one. Newper's cooking tips in particular are worth noting. You can upgrade within reason and notice a big change in flavor. Part of price thing is just paying attention to what is available based on where you shop. Get out more dude and you will see that sometimes that $15.99/lb can be found more reasonably priced elsewhere and make a small change in price worthwhile.
