In your defense, there probably weren't any electrical outlets available.

dumb thing is a pain in the ass....it can be useful for a few things like soup, or cooking beans.....but way more trouble than its worth, you spend like 3 hours cleaning it

Seriously, it's not hard to clean it. Soak that shit like a Mormon, and the crap will come off in no time.

Thank you.

I've heard you always cook on low, even if it calls for high, and make sure you have it about 2/3 of the way full...any less and the slow cooker gets the stuff too hot and it could burn off or boil a bit. Just cook on low and give it a solid 8-10 hours to do its thing. The good news is there are about 2.3 million recipes online...so there is plenty to try out in order to get the hang of it.

I was craving stew the other day but it wasn't going to get started until 2:00 PM or so...went ahead and did it on high for 3 hours and then low for an hour and a half...turned out well enough...

...low is always better if you plan it out and have the time, but down be afraid to put the screws to it...

Well if you're referring to the thread title, it sounds down right disturbing.

I like that Boyd bumped a 2.5 year old IMU thread for the sole reason of saying it sucks.

My pasta salad probably is not of the same quality of the bowling alley food you eat nightly.

Wannabe food snob. When we met up in Wrigleyville, we want to Flacos. It was essentially Chi chi's. Made Chipotle seem authentic.

is bagman a raging dickbag in person, or is that just his online persona? I've read here over the years that he's a nice guy (buys drinks!)

I'm sure even IMU is somewhat tolerable in person.

He was always cool to me in person, but as I've read some of his rambling nonsense, his thoughts on most everything come across as elitist North Shore...

I'm not shocked.

His thoughts on a slow cooker not being cooking were hilarious. Fuck, that thing is the basis for a lot of meals in the winter...and a lot of times fussing over stews and whatnot.

Oh well.

POSTER NOTE: Due to actions unforeseen, it appears beni hanna responded several times after a lipidquadcab post in dickish fashion. This is Not, NOT I say representative of beni hanna's sentiments toward a brother poster from Iowa. Deletion of random posts caused this unfortunate scenario.

Post deletion just sucks. I'm sure I was quite hilarious at the time...

For a few years after this thread, in NCAA pools or golf fantasy stuff, I would name my fantasy teams "newper's <heritage> pasta salad." Had several questions as to why I did that which I did not answer. I stand by my 2010 commentary.
