Bill's still very good.
Wayne's and Antioch Pizza are nearly identical. Decent thin crust, but I find their sauce a little on the bland side.

I nice alternative we just had is Saluto's in Gurnee.

Tammy's Pizza in Spring Grove used to always be a good one, as well.

we did not like Saluto's at all. however, the salad (dressing) and bread rolls are awesome.

I want to try Antioch and Galati's. We've never had Wayne's, but we really like Bake's. It's a fun bar. We also need to get to Olando's.

Saluto's pizza wasn't very good...Doug's right...the salad dressing and rolls are great. They make good pasta, too. Wayne's is usually my go to when I'm at home. Bill's is good, but Emil's on Center is my favorite...worth the time to drive over and pick up when my wife is at home to watch the girls...good for eat in, too, but it gets really crowded. Bill's is nice because you can throw your peanut shells on the ground, but for eat in, their beer selection sucks, and I always find their pizza on the dry side...

OMG...yeah, the salad dressing at Saluto's is amazing. I like the pizza, but the butter crust is a little different and can see why some wouldn't care for it. Emil's is a good option for DT Grayslake...good food.

Galati's are a local family and I really wish I liked it more than I did.

Quite honestly...Italian Oven's is the best thin crust pizza in the area and they also have great Italian beef. I don't even think it's close.

Bake's just changed ownership and has a new name....just went there for the first time. The Fogcutter is our home away from home. If you haven't gone for burgers on Thursdays....you're missing something. Do it soon!

How was new Bake's...whatever the fuck it's called. The wife and I noticed it when we were out and about a couple of weeks ago...we used to go there a bit when I first moved up to Gurnee.

Bake's is a dive with creepy locals. No thanks.

I used to love Bill's in Mundelein, but it sucked the last couple times.

We really only get the double-decker at Bill's. Never tried Italian Ovens, but that's on the list. Emil's pizza and chicken in Mundelein is better than Grayslake, imo. My guess is b/c the pizza oven is 30 years old.

Bake's was good. We haven't been there since the ownership changed. We'll usually go on Saturdays for lunch during football season.

The wife and I recently discovered The Fogcutter. We've gone 3-4 times in the last month. The burgers are awesome.

Does anyone have any recommendations on take and bake pizzas? Not frozen, but the pre-made store ones that are refrigerated?

Olandos pizza is awesome, but you can get awesome pizza at a lot of places.
You can only get The Famous Bootie at Olandos.
:D
Last time I had one was about 5 years ago, but it was as good as I remembered from the early 90's.

Why is a well-to-do gent like yourself looking to take and bake pizzas?

Or you're living in 2050 and have your own coal-fired brick oven and we're the poors.

Aldi.

Not joking, they are quite good.

Jewel has decent take and bake. I'm 50/50 on Aldi. Sometimes I like them, sometimes I don't.

We just get the plain cheese Aldi, and doctor it up sometimes. Much better than a $37 order, and we don't forget our salads.

This is true. Quality has gone down there. At least it still has pedo-bear on the box.

This will sound kind of cheesy (lulz) but I like the smell of pizza cooking, and my homemade pizzas usually suck.

Little Caesars has $5 Hot n Readys, if that's your thing (it sounds like you want it to be your thing)

Never had the hot n ready... how are they? The regular pizzas aren't bad at all.

Do the Kirkland pizzas taste just like Lou's?

I haven't had one in years but I remember them being quite awful.

There's one in the parking lot of my office. Maybe I'll grab one and report back.

Whole Foods hot and ready is much, much worse than a frozen pizza.

I don't know about this place, but there's a halfway decent liquor store in the same strip mall.
