Maybe grill it, then cut it up, toss with oil and balsamic vinegar and serve it as a sort of salad. I dunno. Asparagus is overrated IMO.

Try this...sliced potatoes in a foil pouch with some mayo or Miracle Whip (if you use mayo, throw some paprika in, too), garlic, onions. Kimberly makes these...there's a zing you get from the mayo that you don't get from butter...really good with bbq.

Mayo sucks.

But I will keep this in mind for the missus the next time I do taters on the grill.

Honestly, I think you've had them at my house...we make them a lot for bbq's.

Put a layer of foil on the grill for the asparagus, keeps it from falling through, still get the flavor.

Just grilled up four different flavors of brats from the butcher shop that processed our beef. Wife says price was fantastic, $2.99/lb, looks like we'll plan to get moreover time we get out there. Very non-greasy on the grill. We'll see how they taste.

Celebrating birthday with our oldest, he turns 26 today.

Drunkenly grilled a frozen Jack's Pizza last night at about 9:30 with mixed results. I liked it, but the bottom got pretty charred. I think next time I will have to use indirect Heat.

Did Aldi beer brats which were outstanding and Nathan's beef hot dogs for lunch. Firing up the kingsford's again to throw some sliced potatoes and pork chops on the grill soon

Not sure if anything will be going over the coals tonight. Got some cleanup and yardwork to do. Maybe hotdogs or something quick.

Tomorrow; Burgers and potatoes (tilapia for the little guy)
Sunday; NY Strip steaks
Monday; Pork Tenderloin

Undecided, but burgers will probably happen tomorrow...everything else played by ear depending on the weather.

smoked a 6lb brisket on tuesday. ate about two lbs of it that night. bourbon before and during then a pina colada for dessert (don't ask). I was miserable for about 18 hours thereafter as it all worked through my digestive tract. MAYBE I'd be willing to eat the leftovers tomorrow though the thought of it makes me a tad queasy.

That's going to be me tomorrow. Jewels sale had me loading up on encased meats.

I did some Jewel Italian sausage last week. 2 for $5.

I'm a BigFan of the jalapeno cheddar brats.

That sounds like me the last time I did a pork belly. Minus the colada. Looking at the one in the freezer and I am tempted but the memory of the havoc wrecked on my gut has not faded enough.

Burgers (just 2, they’re expensive)
Beer brats
Chicken breasts
Corn

As an aside, last week I got some whole wheat burger buns and they were the worst
I do prefer whole wheat for sandwiches but it fails completely as a burger bun

Smoking a tri-tip. I was supposed to be smoking double-thick pork chops but we forgot to brine them last night. Tomorrow will work for that though.

Was just planning on grilling a few beef skewers and some marinate boneless chicken. Figured to do it quickly. Stupid me didn't factor in 60 degrees and windy for the small amount of charcoal I had left.

I've never used this many wood chunks/chips in my life in less than three hours.

It was everywhere when I lived in Montana and have had a heck of a time with it around here. Smaller, stand alone type butchers seem to be more likely to have it.

Much more popular out west. It is very good though -- you are right, a local butcher can hook you up with it.
