I'm a sausage biscuit guy, so all I would order is one of those. It's protein, right? :)

Well, there was the cheddar biscuit...good, but compared to everything else, just not Hardee's quality.

There was a Checkers, or maybe even a Rally's, somewhere around Waukegan or Gurnee. I think it closed.

I've gotten two red light tickets at that corner. I loathe it. That being said the sonic is right down the way from there. Also overrated.

CANDLELIGHT!

The first girl I met when I started doing the online dating thing lived in that area, and I stopped there one time on my way to Chicago to have lunch...we just had to eat there, because it was so amazing!

Most overrated fucking shit I've ever had. And I'm from Iowa, where we act like a trip to Biaggi's is fine dining.

When I am working in Cedar Rapids I always go to biaggi's for the soup and salad lunch. I rather enjoy it. I actually have never dined at one in Illinois though even though I sized out the one off of rand rd for heaters.

We have most of the places mentioned in this thread over here in the SB area, like Steak & Shake, Rally's, etc. -- but no Hardee's for more than a decade. (Went the way of old Burger Chef.)

Some of the newer fast food places for us are Culver's, Red Robin, Sonic, and Panda Express.

We had a Del Taco for a while, but it cut out of here. Asshole of a manager: He wouldn't accept his own franchise's coupon, sent in the mail! What a stupid shit. They also shortchanged me on an order once. Good riddance.

Looks like there are already casualties: Westmont, Batavia, and Lemont - they're all gone. There may be others I haven't seen yet, but noticed all three in my work travels the past couple of weeks.

Less than 18 months in each case. Sounds like the franchisee didn't know what the fuck they were doing, and in the case of Batavia, just did one of those quiet kinda "open one day, closed the next without any warning to anyone" jobs.

Where the hell did they put a Hardees in Lemont? The old Green Tree or whatever next to the bowling alley?

Just a litte South on State - I think it used to be a Wendy's.

Lemon Tree is still there, but the bowling alley closed within the last year or so.

That is a shame. Years ago had a family bowling league on Sundays there in the summer.

There was one slotted to open in Westmont on Ogden avenue, remodeled the whole restaurant and put up signage but the place never even opened.

Obviously corporate has had cash flow problems or strategic uprisings.

I stopped at one in Oswego about 2 weeks ago, and it was just OK. There is also one in Yorkville, and Crestwood/Midlothian.

If it didn't close in the latest barrage of closings, the Hardee's on 53 in Bolingbrook has to be on life support. At one point I'd stop in because they had cut their 32 oz. soft drink price to $0.79 and their non-egg breakfast biscuits are ok. But otherwise I never see anybody in the drive through window line.

there is a Hardee's out here in Dixon, and i think that the Frisco Burger is awesome. Everything there is so expensive though, even the value meals. Also, the drive-through is VERY slow and that is a problem when lunch time is limited. I don't go in there often and it used to strike me as pretty nasty, but a couple years back they remodeled it and the one time i have been in the building since it was very clean and nice. I don't go there often these days because i am trying to eat a lot healthier but even before that i had stopped frequenting it simply because it was just too expensive.

Wow. That didn't last long. I patronized it twice.

tbh I stopped going often. I don't pick up fast food breakfast as much as I used to, and when TB started offering breakfast I split my time there. I rarely went for lunch as the folks I work with don't like it. Portillos, McDonalds, Taco Bell, BK and Wendy's are all right there. Tough competition.

Bolingbrook was open when i drove by it the other day. But if their franchisee is having trouble elsewhere, I don't see them being able to survive the winter at that location.

The Hardee's in Prospect Heights on River Road just north of Milwaukee closed last week. It was rarely crowded-the inside of the building was poorly maintained.
