So I had a meeting with a guy last week at The Foundry in Aurora near the Fox Valley Mall, and much to my surprise, they have a large Cigar room in the back of the place full of leather couches and chairs and TV's...and they have food and bar service in the smoking room. I'm not sure how they get around the non smoking laws, but I am loving this place. They also have an OTB.

Not what you are talking about but here in PA you can have smoking if you without exception do not let anyone under 21 in. Of course that limits business to some establishments but the owner can decide.

The other thing here which sounds like you are talking about is the smoking "aquarium".

What they did right after the law was placed was create a new LLC that has the tobacco selling rights and they lease the space out to them from The Foundry. So it operates as an independent entity, albeit a very friendly one. Pretty clever move.

I had also heard about one bar trying to have people sign a contract when they come in that the bar can sell the video rights of their visit. The bar then claimed they were making a movie, and the cigarettes served as essential props for the actors. Don't know if this is still happening or not, but I thought it was also pretty damned clever.

Many bars have heated patio tents where smoking is allowed

The cigar shop by the Estates (great place to buy cigars by the way when you come to lakemoorfest, a 1500 sq foot qalk in humidor), has a full smoking lounge, bigscreen HD tv's leather chairs and recliners... nice.

I figured it had to be a loophole of some sort. They do sell Cigars, but I have yet to see anyone buy one. Everyone just walks in and heads straight to the Cigar room. This afternoon there was a guy there drinking canned Heineken in the can that he brought in!
This place is quickly becoming my office away from my home office.
