Have to head down to Atlanta next month. Wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a nice dinner spot, looking for a place to take a customer. I have found some places just looking at reviews online but wondering if anyone has any first hand tips. Probably leaning towards a steak/seafood place.

The Buckhead portion of Atlanta is really the place to be. I don't visit too often, so I can't think of any great places to go.

Ok thanks, that is where both of the steakhouses that I saw were at.

The area is a lot of fun as far as Atlanta goes. If you're in that area, then you're in the right place.

I'm sure wherever you end up you'll think it sucks anyways, so just walk into the first place you see. :P

Been there once,

Take the interstate and drove right on through.

I am OK with it.

Since nobody would answer seriously, I can state firsthand that this place was very good for hosting...http://www.buckheadrestaurants.com/atlanta-fish-market
Note: some BBQ is better but not really for a customer

Maybe not the place to take a customer, but try Dreamland BBQ. Best vinegar-base sauce I've ever had. I could have just eaten the white bread and sauce. Ribs were also great.

I lived in Atlanta(Buckhead actually) quite awhile back, visit occasionally and "know" one thing to be true. Atlanta (like most of the south) has no "great" steakhouses.

Houston's (the chain) on Lenox Ave was dollar for dollar the best thing going. Like most of the rest of the "New South", their "culture" and "cuisine" are pretty shallow, if not contrived. Atlanta has no soul and even less flavor. The majority of it's "better parts" are the Schaumburg below the Mason/Dixon line imo.(that's actually not a joke)

Just find the best spots around your hotel in Buckhead and call it a trip. It's just about the best you can do.

you know what the sad part is? i know of at least one CSFMB poster who got a good job offer down in HOTTLANTA and moved down there... and the guy is paragon to the cutting edge of style, sophistication, taste, and class.... so no doubt you'd find out the best places to go like *fingersnap*

the problem is that the dude is like beetlejuice, in that you have to say his name no less than 3 times, preferably in a thread that's about him in the first place, otherwise mr. "man of the people" isn't gonna show up and chat with us, as his ideal MO is only to part the clouds above us and descend from the heavens to drop a  that reminds us that we oughta be careful what we say because "He" is watching any and all threads that talk about him and his future.

that's right Hank, if you would have made this a Jason Goff(TM) thread i bet you could have gotten an answer. for shame man.... don't you know that you gotta titillate the guy's ego to get that  which makes posting here worthwhile, if only for that fleeting moment in time and space? WE WERE NOTICED BY A W-LIST CELEBRITY.... IT'S TIME TO MASTURBATE!

/me applies the ether to himself and goes to bed

I still don't know what to believe about the whole Goff hitting on Sini affair.

I lived in Dunwoody for awhile …. for a Client Dinner …. Ray's on the River.

Except when the Chattahoochee is flooding, then the "on the River" part isn't such a draw.
