Have to head down to Atlanta next month. Wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a nice dinner spot, looking for a place to take a customer. I have found some places just looking at reviews online but wondering if anyone has any first hand tips. Probably leaning towards a steak/seafood place.

The Buckhead portion of Atlanta is really the place to be. I don't visit too often, so I can't think of any great places to go.

Maybe not the place to take a customer, but try Dreamland BBQ. Best vinegar-base sauce I've ever had. I could have just eaten the white bread and sauce. Ribs were also great.

I lived in Atlanta(Buckhead actually) quite awhile back, visit occasionally and "know" one thing to be true. Atlanta (like most of the south) has no "great" steakhouses.

Houston's (the chain) on Lenox Ave was dollar for dollar the best thing going. Like most of the rest of the "New South", their "culture" and "cuisine" are pretty shallow, if not contrived. Atlanta has no soul and even less flavor. The majority of it's "better parts" are the Schaumburg below the Mason/Dixon line imo.(that's actually not a joke)

Just find the best spots around your hotel in Buckhead and call it a trip. It's just about the best you can do.

you know what the sad part is? i know of at least one CSFMB poster who got a good job offer down in HOTTLANTA and moved down there... and the guy is paragon to the cutting edge of style, sophistication, taste, and class.... so no doubt you'd find out the best places to go like *fingersnap*
