Mrs. Scorehead & I eat out alot at Japanese Hibachi restaurants & have tried many different ones, but Shinto in Naperville on Rt. 59 is in a league by themselves. Great Hibachi & Sushi along with great service & a very nice modern restaurant. We went here last Thursday & loved it so much we went back tonight with my Daughter & found out that on Tuesdays they offer a $12 full Hibachi meal & $5 Martinis. Mondays all rolls are 1/2 price, & Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 all appetizers are 1/2 price. They probably have about 20 Hibachi tables & the place was packed full by the time we left & if you don't get here early enough you will need a reservation. For many years our Tuesdays have been spent at The Country House on Tuesday nights for the .50 cent Oysters, but from now on we will be here.

I've really been expanding my culinary horizons as of late (actually had mussels for the first time in June), but I ain't never ever ever gonna eat an oyster. Dear God.

I used to live just west of there in some condos across from the ice rink, and I loved the food... only have had the sushi, but it has always been good.

I think a spiral ham, and some meatloaf are in order.

Pretty cool that he stayed in the area and decided to use some his MLB money on opening a steakhouse.

I believe the Shinto dieties take note of those who frequent this establishment.

Oysters are good. Throw some hot sauce on there and you're living the good life.

I'm sorry, I just have a thing about seafood. Turns out scallops and mussels are good, but I'm still holding out on lobster and oysters. I need a level of abstraction in my food that eating raw oysters just can't deliver.

I used to feel the same way. Then I was basically forced to eat them for various reasons and now I actually look forward to getting all sorts of seafood. I think it just takes repeated consumption and a Caveman Diet.

The original yet ultimately rejected slogan of the American Oyster Consortium.

Deep fried oysters, with some horseradish or wasabi.

Ha. Just various places we've traveled and work events where you "had" to get them or you were weird. Rhode Island quite a bit.

I thought maybe you were imprisoned by pirates.

Yeah, I sort of had the same situation last month (without the pressure of being called weird, because we were all a little weird), but I was able to opt out by saying I don't eat live animals.
