Anyone ever been? I think they have more than one location. I went there on a recommendation from a friend when I was driving near Old Orchard and needed a place for dinner. Place was amazing, best Thai food I've ever had.

Ruby of Siam is OK, nothing special. I've eaten their many times for the sake of convenience since the Evanston location is close to my former workplace.

Places I consider significantly better than Ruby of Siam (based on my most recent visits):

Aroy Thai on Damen
Rainbow Thai on Western
Spoon Thai on Western (used to be the top Thai Place in Chicago, but has been sold and appears to be in decline)
Opart Thai on Western
Sticky Rice on Western
Rosded on Leland
Thai Avenue on Broadway
Thai Pastry on Broadway

TM - Cross Rhodes in Evanston. Normally I have to fight back an impulse to burn down restaurants with puns in their names in the middle of the night (and it looks like I have my work cut out for me in E-town), but the pictures I've seen on instagram look pretty good. Greek, casual, what do you got?

It's fine, nothing special as I recall. To be honest, I haven't been there in several years because I prefer Dengeo's on Main in Skokie. Cross Rhodes is very popular with salad-eating sorority girls.

If you were gonna choose between the ones on Western/Damen which restaurant would you go to?

I have lived out-of-state for the past 17 months, so I'm not totally up-to-date on my Thai restaurant info.

Before I moved, Thai Aroy was my favorite spot for Thai food in the city. Rainbow Thai was second. Both were/are great, though neither has much of an ambiance.

I lived right around the corner for a long time. I think I only went in there once. It was usually pretty crowded. As you suggested, it's a gyros place. The gyros I had was fine. It was a gyros. Nothing really memorable.

There are a select few places that make their gyros by hand rather than using the frozen kones from Kronos. Also, the tzatziki makes a difference. Most places use the basic Kronos stuff. It's ubiquitous, like Orval Kent cole slaw. Tony at Hub's makes his own tzatziki and it's damn good.

 immessedup17 could make his own tzatziki.

Whoa! I made my own tzatziki last night with a little help from Dominique Crenn. Those snooty French chicks give great handjobs!
