I brought the kids to my parent's to finish up trick or treating. My mom served up pizza and home made chili. I don't know why it never occurred to me to use chili as a dipping sauce for pizza in the past but I'm glad I discovered it.

Which reminded me of the old Chili Mac on Broadway...served a great thin pizza

It is an interesting place because Lou's bar is kind of a dive type place. All the old professional golf people (caddie master, pro, older caddies) from where I caddied used to hang out there. 30+ years later I go to pick up my pizza and they are still there.

Nothing says "finger on the pulse" like Chicago Magazine. It's a magazine made to be placed in a hotel room for tourists and conventioneers.

Well, obviously more than a few share my truth.

You caddied at Bryn Mawr C.C.? It's pretty interesting that Catholic boys from Queens caddied for the Jewish machers at Bryn Mawr while I was over at Evanston caddying for the big shots from Queens with a bunch of Jewish kids.

Was Chris Otis the club pro when you were there?

I think we have seen multiple examples of where Rick will argue to near death to make his truth the real truth.

Maybe it's the no sauce, maybe the cornmeal crust (I find it gravel like), I don't like it.

Only thin crust. It's perfectly proportionate.

Lous is the nuts man. Best deep or stuffed or whatever y poo u want to call it in Chicago.

Sausage and spinach is the best.

Thin crust sucks.

I won't go Full Metal Royko, I'm sure someone can dig up the link, but the proportions for anything other than thin crust are kind of , to be gentle, disproportionate in favor of cheese and gummy dough. Depends what you grew up on, I suppose.

Yep, it has to. My New York friends actually swear by that droopy, soggy, depressing triangle-cut mess they call "pizza." But they probably had those triangles after their soccer games as kids, and it cemented their love. Food consumption as a kid pretty much dictates what you like as an adult.

I'm a big fan of Durbin's deep dish pizza.

I agree that Lou's is the best poo pizza in Chicago.

I don't think it does. I have a like and appreciation for all styles of pizza. There really isn't a type that I wouldn't happily consume. I do dislike some of the toppings on pizza. I don't like Hawaiian, or any sweet toppings for that matter. I don't really care for white pizza (Elmhurst Steve joke). I don't like when things like BBQ sauce are substituted for red sauce.

big fan of the wood-fired white pizza. the owner Frank is a great guy, I used to keep him in sharp knives

BBQ chicken pizza can be pretty good, but keep that trendy white pizza crap. If I want fresh mozzarella and basil, I'll have a lame salad.

in general i agree with you about non-pizza sauce sauces being used, but i'll make a concession once in awhile for BBQ sauce..with chicken, bacon, onion, etc. it can be pretty tasty
