Kuma's was alright. I would go back for a beer, but the burger was overpriced. Nothing special.

Always wanted to go to Kuma's but wasn't going to go to the city. Went to the Schaumburg one last night and got the Pantera and my gf got the Neurosis. The Neurosis was alright, nothing special, but the Pantera burger was the best burger I've ever had.

As a metalhead, I enjoyed the atmosphere alot.

This place has been on our list...and yes, driving to Schaumburg is a hell of a better option than the city. Hope to cross it off the list soon.

I thought the one on Belmont was better. I tried the one in Schaumburg and everything just seemed to be a lower quality there.

The new one in Schaumburg is just a franchise, right? I heard one opened in Indianapolis too.

Its been a couple years since I've been there, but I hear the one on Belmont has fallen off a bit as well. Something about the quality of the meat going down. I'll have to make a trip there at some point to confirm.

Lair of the Minotaur is the best burger at Kuma's imo. Better than Au Cheval, better than Ezra, better than everything.

I went there about a month ago, but you could be right. It was noticeably better than the Schaumburg spot, but might not have been as good as my last visit. It was still a great time, and actually the crowd might have tapered off becuz of the new spot in Schaumburg. Now IMU can order a burger without walking past a black guy on the sidewalk.

I've been meaning to try AuCheval...they're always too packed to get served on the way to a Hawks game...I've ended up at Little Goat a few times because of it...the Little Goat is really good.

Haven't tried it, but I doubt they can beat the burger at Twisted Spoke.

the "trick" to Au Cheval is getting there at 4:00pm, put a reservation in, and then hang out at the bars in the area for 2 hours until they text you.

Yeah...I was on my way down to a game...called them...looked like I'd get there before 5...then traffic sucked and by 5:05 it was a 2 hour wait.

Been meaning to go to Twisted Spoke too...I've only driven past it about 1,000 times...I hear they're good for brunch too.

It's better than Twisted Spoke. I like TS, but Kuma's is definitely better.

Isn't there like 6 or 8 Kuma's now? I've been to the 2 in the city. Belmont location will always be cool with me, but Kuma's too is good also. Just.......different.

Interesting, maybe I'll check it out then. I only know of the one in the city and the on in Schaumburg.

Kumas Too is at 666 W. Diversey Pkwy in the city.
It's the same food and great beer selection, but just way more modern and newer/cleaner. Easier to get into also, but I think they get busy during workday lunches. Probably more "kid friendly", though I'd take my kids to the original Kumas during the day with no hesitation as well.

The future Mrs and I decided that we would celebrate our anniversary and the completion of the Shamrock Shuffle with a long overdue maiden voyage to the original Kuma's on Belmont.

I went with the original Kuma and she had the Metallica. these were washed down with 3 Floyd's Zombie Dust on tap.

The burgers were very good....not my favorite, but definitely worth the trip. There were others on the menu that looked good which made the decision difficult. I would definitely go back again. The only thing I would say was bit much was the bun. Some sort of pretzel roll. I like a pretzel roll but this felt like a cinder block. it was a lot to eat.

As much as I love metal, the music even for me got a bit annoying by the end. not everything playing needs to be some sort death / thrash metal. Jesus throw in some Priest or Maiden to balance it out.

went recently to original and still solid.

biggest surprise was the salad (instead of fries). very good!

biggest knock against the place has the be the godawful music. the enjoyment of a 30-45 minute meal there is dampened by that racket.

sitting at the bar and 3 older gentlemen from california sit down. said they saw it on food network so had to try it. they were saving a 4th spot. turns out they invited their uber driver to lunch.

America?

What's wrong with the music in there?

went to the schaumburg location a few months ago... the weirdest thing was they had a lunch menu and the burgers on that menu looked like they were from the kids menu as they were way smaller than I had been accustomed to seeing from Kuma's. My co-worker could not stand the music but admitted the burger was amazing

i don't find heavy metal music to be relaxing while dining.
