Honestly, the only time I've ever gotten pissed during open play with kids or whatever was when I was next to a group of high school kids who decided the best thing they could do was run up behind me while bowling and try to slap my bowling ball while I was in my back swing...and of course they were successful, and of course I did a nose dive onto the lane...

Admittedly, there were a lot of things said, and there was a reference to at least one of the parents as being a brain-dead Stepford whore (this was Vernon Hills, after all)...but yeah, that kind of shit isn't a bowling etiquette thing...that's a common decency thing.

While bowling a few years back I'm actually rolling a good game (for me). No open frames thru 4 and I was working on 2 straight strikes. Lining up for the 5th. As I'm standing on the line and just getting moving some 20ish drunk asshole next to us runs up grabs a 8 lb ball and like shot put this thing... I stopped my delivery and watched his shot bounce a few feet down his lane, bounce into my lane and take out my 7 pin. He and his crew thought this was hilarious. I wanted to delete his face.

I've never seen the teens you two describe, but yes, that obviously goes beyond unwritten rules etiquette. You'd both be right to get in their faces.

I'm sure it's going to happen one day but I haven't had any young kid do or say anything reckless to me. I'm not itching to fight or anything but they're respectful to me.

If you're walking an 80lb beast around, it likely isn't going to happen.


If you're truly a regular at a house and you want to roll a few games to really practice, than you should know when the slow(er) times are and show up then. I am reasonably sure they would give you a lane that is relatively far away from everything else that is going on so as not to be disturbed.

I've noticed that most do...I've had counter people I know apologize for putting me next to kids or whatever, and I always tell them it doesn't bother me...when it's been families with younger kids, I try to encourage them as well...little things.

They were no real punches. A little jab or two and it was over and done. I just don't respect someone who comes on here and does a total 180. Mult posts that are done in jest is one thing. Pretending to be something or somebody you're not is a different ballgame. I have no respect for people who are phony like that.
