I would say about 5 to 10% of all cops fit that profile. Probably a higher percentage of officers with less than 5 years on the job.

Add to that those who don't know when to put the badge down, if you know what I mean. I have a friend that fits this description. Wears the gun on his hip even when he is off duty. He ran into a little trouble once when he had an off duty situation. Had to go through due process and nearly lost his job.

Police work is a difficult, often thankless job. I'm not anti cop. I've had both positive and negative experiences with the police. Sometimes they forget that they are there to uphold and not make the law. I think this situation is much more prevalent in impoverished areas also.

Supposedly, two LEOs were shot in Dallas. It may not be true--has not been verified yet, but a few stations are reporting it. If it's true, this thing is getting uglier in a way I didn't think possible.

Searched for Falcon Heights trending topics on FB and saw a clip of Spiegs and Goff talking about it today. They both made some good points. I got a little bit choked up listening to Jason talk about the different type of convo he will eventually have with his children regarding how to act around the police. My wife and I are hopefully going to have mixed race kids some time in the next year or so. I don't know if it will be the same type of convo Jason was talking about, but it really hit me that the conversation will be different than the one my dad had with me.
