The whole thing makes no sense, yet is incredibly successful.

Everybody has things... One of mine is grocery stores. It's sorta weird, I know. I love going to them when I go on vacation or whatever. My friends that live in Cinci could not wait to take me there. It was like Whole Foods, met Wally World, met Walmart. I had no idea how I was suppose to respond.

It has a fishery, it has a singing Elvis by the cheese section, 1000+ kinds of soda, a port-a-potty selfie booth, about three aisles of beer selection, carnival rides, probably ten different ethnic aisles covering the entire globe, a Jersey Mike's ordering counter (if you want to go into Jersey Mike's, you can, but they will sell it to you and let you continue shopping), and everyone in there is friendly. It is definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

European grocery stores are fun. Plus if it is sweltering out, you can just stand in the frozen foods section and cool off.

We went to one in Malta I think. I dont really know what is a grocery store an what is not in european countries.

Functionally identical to their American counterparts you just won't find them in the city center. They are not as popular though, at least in France. Most people have their boulanger, boucher, fromagerie etc. then buy the rest at Leclerc or Carrefour, which are goliath stores that more closely resemble a Target or Walmart.

Intermarché would be the closest thing to an American grocery store but the entire chain feels like a festering shithole.

There’s no competition for number 1. Everyone’s fighting for 2nd-5th.

Most of the riff raff is west of Sheridan Road, but this whole town has taken a nose dive over the last decade or so.
