Only one I can claim on that card is Lake Arrowhead. Do I get double points for also having showered there?

Check that; do I also get points for the 21 & 13 Cafe, even though it is now closed?

Hah they are closed. They were sold, and the new owners had a decent concept. But it did not work out. It is a fairly prime, heavily trafficked location. Not sure why it fails.

In any case, they are not a tavern league bar. It is (was) a breakfast joint.

The youth basketball team that I coach has become a juggernaut. A couple of the younger kids have really improved, and the added depth is too much for other teams to handle. We're 16-1 with two games left to play before the playoffs. Even with mercy rules in place (no pressing, no fast breaks) we are crushing teams that beat us last year.

Nice I love it. We had a few years like that.

My youngest won her age group in the Pepsi Youth Scholarship bowling tournament over the weekend. Now she qualifies for state, which will send us to Dekalb in May. Not bad considering she hated bowling a year ago...now it's almost impossible to get her off the lanes.

Ehh...Dekalb is a day trip. I've had friends who have had to go to godforsaken places like Decatur for it...and spend the night.

Lucky you. I did that for a few years and had the time of my life. At the time, I didn't even know hardball leagues existed. I was playing that dopey softball crap, and an opposing player turned me onto it.

My wife and I are going to meet a dog at a rescue Saturday morning and see if we want to adopt her. I wasn't sure if we would get another dog or if so, how long it would be after putting our last one down a month ago. The house has felt a bit empty and quiet without one and I have noticed that my activity level has diminished quite a bit not having to walk a dog or take one out. It is a bit of a hike to the SW suburbs from where I live but should be interesting to see what happens and if we come home with her.

I completely understand how you feel. When my best pal Riggs passed I didn't think I could get another animal but 3 weeks later we felt lonely and rescued a little black kitty and she's the best kitty ever. Good luck and I hope yall work it out and share that love you still have with a pupper who needs it.

They are cool. I was down on them until I owned one. Also, I think the standard wait to replace a pet is three months. I don't think it's good to just immediately turn the page.
