Bought my first bottle of vodka (Tito's naturally) in over decade today. Made a sugar free vodka mojito. Very tart. Probably better on a hot day.

Grapefruit Sculpin now.

If a mojito has vodka and no sugar, is that still a mojito?

No but it's easier than typing out lime juice, mint, and soda water on ice. Wait...

Mint and vodka. How did that work out?

I love mint. My thoughts on vodka are well documented.

Tasted like a tart and sharp mojito. Mint may have been overpowered by too much lime. Not bad.

Finally finished being my youngest 's chauffeur. Barbancourt 5 star time for awhile, but not too long, Saints game demands a varied spread and I'm no longer a morning person.

Bbq shrimp can be time consuming to make right.

The weed "argument" is funny.

Funniest part of my day today was me telling my kids how my Dad used to have me go into the local grocery store as a 10-year-old or so - "Can I get a carton of Winstons?" and buying some cigs.

My kids thought that was hilarious. Along with talking about the highlight of going out to dinner with my parents was being able to go to the cigarette vending machine after dinner to get a pack. That was before video games.

Only the squarest of squares are still hung up about weed. How many pots have you smoken, man?

In the mid 80's, my buddy's mom would give him money, so we could ride up to the convenient store/deli to buy her cigs. The two Italian brothers who ran the store knew us, and our parents, so it was cool. I miss the subs and pizza bread from that place.

Most bowling alleys had those machines. When I was 16 and 17, I would buy smokes that way sometimes.

A buck and a quarter a pack & I still remember the feel of the pull on the machine.

You had to know. Can't be gentle. It took a hard jerk, so to speak.

My mom used to give me a note to go up to White Hen and get her a pack of Winston's.

Those machines used to be everywhere and some in areas no one would see you buy if you were a young kid. My parents quit before I was born, well apparently dad would still have one from time to time at cocktail parties but did get them for friends parents. I remember them slowing disappearing but then being at country club for something in the early to mid 90’s and the one that had been in the back staircase was still there.

Rock climbing while drinking bourbon doesn't seem like a good idea.

You didn't appreciate that they are splitting logs on the top of a mountain? Did they bring their own wood?

Nothing like a mountain-top bonfire while whiskey drinking.

Did they bring a full size axe as well? That would be cumbersome while climbing a mountain...even for a true mountain man.
