Saw two concerts at World and once it was freezing and the other time it was a torrential down pour which also matched my poplar creek experience.

They played the Egyptian Theater in Dekalb in the early 80s.

I always liked Radio Free Europe, even when WXRT played it a bunch.

For a while, I avoided R.E.M. because their major hits just didn’t do much for me. But then I dove deep into their catalog (officials, bootlegs, etc) and discovered that I like more than 100 of their songs. I can’t say that about too many non-classic rock era groups/acts.

There was a time when I’d have put Pearl Jam in that 100+ song group, but nowadays, I just can’t stomach Eddie Vedder’s vocals on the first three albums. Still love their Neil Young influenced material from 1995-2000, though.
