I guess you guys have had it similar but I am really done with rain and this summer being useless.

if we have another El Nino this year (it can happen, happened 3 years in a row before), then the rest of the summer will be cooler than normal. Tho the wine hauls out of California, Chile and Argentina can be spectacular in El nino years.

lake county got fucked last night, 4-6 inches of rain, holy shit. best of luck to any members have to deal with that wake up surprise

Knock on wood, no water in my basement, but traffic was fucked.

My wife is trying to get the kids from Gurnee to Libertyville for daycare. Every North/South road she's hit is closed (Milwaukee, 45, 83...and 137 is fucked up).

Another 3 inches of rain in Kenosha last night. They got it much worse west of us but since the ground was saturated from over 4
inches Monday morning I again am getting water seeping in the basement. I'll just check on it when I go home for lunch, not much
I can do and it isn't as bad as Monday. I spent about 30 minutes yesterday raking up all the mulch that came out of the beds from
the flooded backyard yesterday and my wife told me that it was a waste of time because all the mulch is floating in the backyard again.

Was down in Peoria on Monday night when they got hit pretty nice. I don't like when my phone gives me tornado warnings. Although I like being in the direct path of a tornado warning less.

Stormy again this morning but just a short rain and lightning. Lawn is a jungle.

I heard that on WBBM numerous times this morning.

Shout outs to Doug and Franky T. New sewer line is keeping the backyard free of water.

You will keep hearing it, so long as morons insist on trying to drive across flooded roads.

Elgin got hammered last night. Rain gauge showed 5 inches last night, with some hail. My brother out in Hampshire said his yard is under water, and has 2 feet of water in his shed. That dumb bitch Cheryl Scott said last night that there wouldn't be any storms, maybe a passing shower. Then said there would be a possible storm this morning between 2am and 8am. It is now almost 11:00 and it's still storming. She has no clue.

Wait.. you're not supposed to do that? What if I have a big SUV, that should work, right?

Went home at 10 and squeegeed out as much water from my garage as I could as it was up to my ankles. 75 minutes later I had it
as good I could get it. More will likely seep in but at least not underwater. 3.5 more inches this morning on what was completely
saturated ground, nowhere for it to go.

This is a shitty time to be in the middle of some outdoors painting I tell you what.

Did anyone else get woke up by their phone emitting s shrill tone circa ~1045pm then ~1205am last night into this morning? I thought I had turned off all that E911 shit when my phone would go psycho to let me know there was an Amber alert for [make/model/plate of car] in Michigan or whatever, but I guess issuing a FLASH FLOOD WARNING(TM) for my county = overrides all my settings to give me a couple'a wakeup calls when I'm trying to rest up for an early start today.

Mine was at 3:30 this morning for a flash flood warning in Lake County.

Yeah mine was for flash flood warnings until 4:30am or something, but hey the last time this joint flooded (the great monsoon of Sept ~10th 2008) a new sump pump resulted from that so I didn't have to worry about waking up afloat a few hours later or anything...

STILL, as someone who uses his cellphone as his alarm clock, it's like "oh comeon man" cuz the worst is when ur dreaming during the first alert and it works its way into your dream and that shrill emergency broadcast system style tone adds an ominous layer to your dream/s and fucks with you that way..... Then appx 2hrs later it comes back to make sure you know the same damn info (or the warning was technically extended from 430am to 445am or something) #comeonson let a manchild sleep.
