Do you really consider attraction to a fifteen or sixteen year old pedophilia? If that's the case, I'm guessing a lot of guys are guilty. Certainly for their thoughts. I don't think it's a good practice to be banging them when you're much older, I'm just not sure it should be a crime. If anyone finds that concept creepy, that's fine.

I can understand Steve being upset when his 18 year old daughter is dating a 33 year old guy. And it suggests something about the maturity level of her boyfriend. But if blustering Steve "makes him regret it", Steve is the criminal, not the guy.

I don't think a teacher should be banging his or her students ever. But I certainly think a modern American fifteen year old is capable of consensual sexual relationships. Hell, they're capable of murder. All of a sudden you want to pretend they're innocent fawns?

Aside from the long lasting celebrity super models I would guess the vast majority of the models you see are 16-21. I won't even bring up how many were waiting for Taylor Swift or Brittany Spears etc to become 18 to publicly admit their lust.

Okay, first off my daughter is not 18 anymore and she never dated anyone that was more than a year or two older than she was growing up. She's married at this point and her husband is the same age, so lets not let our imaginations get the best of us. I think that a lot of things you have posted in this thread has resulted in a lower opinion of your charachter....not that you care. It seems you don't. The age thing certainly gets blurred these days and I have certainly had to ask friends I was with "legal or not" when fawning. One thing in the thread I seem to see is that mostly all agree that the initial story that got this going was wrong. It is much worse for someone of any age margin to abuse their power. Especially teachers but could just as easily be the CEO and receptionist or law partner and associate etc.

I think it's just as wrong for a university professor to have a relationship with a grad student even though it's not illegal. It happens all the time though. And it may be slightly frowned upon, but it's all "wink-wink" in the department as all the other profs quietly wish they were nailing one too.

What's grown though? If a 30 year old did so, yes I would agree with you. But if a 19 year old high school senior porks his 16 year old girlfriend I don't think that is a crime at all regardless of what the law saws.
