Today is the biggest Penske file day of the year.

It’s just any other old weekend day for me. As in, hired guy stays home and I work all day. At least the salesmen won’t be calling today, no, I don’t need 100 tons of distillers grain this coming week.

No sales till late Q1. If you hit your bonuses no reason to sell till you get paid next year. It's dead till after the January conferences and the budgets get doll'd out for 2019. February is the time to sell, no sales in June/July either.

I stand corrected. Today seems to be the biggest Penske File day of the year.

Last Friday was pretty slow, but there is jack and shit going on right meow.

Tomorrow is a National Day of Mourning. Stock market closed, banks closed, no mail federal government offices not open.

Do you have to work tomorrow? If so tomorrow is a Penske File day if any.

wife has the day off. we get out at 2. going out to lunch at charkie's in winfield which has become a regular place for lunch since jake's closed last year. still bummed about that though.

Isn't Charkie's in Carol Stream or Glendale Heights?

They opened an Auereilo's Pizza where Jake's used to be. Place is top notch and better than any other Auereilo's locations I have ate at previously.

The previous owner's sold. The family that originally owned and opened the place were great people and served up some great food. I think they struggled getting a solid customer base and eventually sold to some woman who ran the place into the ground. The restaurant turned into something you might see on Kitchen Nightmares. That owner then sold to some new person who changed the name to Berger Bros. Berger Bros is great. Phenomenal burgers.

My Brother-in-law and I were going to try to do a quick-serve breakfast/lunch place there years ago, figuring between the train and the hospital we could do some decent volume. I would park on that corner and watch the foot traffic patterns. Could never make the numbers work. Also, the food at the hospital is pretty decent.

Winfield doesn't have any kind of breakfast option in town. That idea probably would have worked well. The hospital food is actually pretty good. My ex-wife has worked there for about 10 years now, and we lived across the street from the hospital. We would walk over there to eat sometimes.

It beat the shit food that John's and Caliendo's served up.
