That’s fucking fantastic. Congratulations on both the accomplishment and giving him all the resources you could to help him succeed.

That’s the sorta thing that makes me want to believe in God, but then I’d read Facebook again.

The actual quote from “Dr. Expert” was to my wife to “go home and cry” and then start a plan tomorrow.

We basically said fuck that.

This kid is awesome. He works harder than anyone I’ve ever known. He earned it.

Doctors certainly knew much less about autism 15 years ago than they do today. Or 30 years ago; the stuff they said about some of my nieces and nephews were similar (they'll never talk, think about a group home, they may be mildly retarded, etc.).

I don't blame the doctors, but all the same, eff off to them.

I think my news is probably just as important as Doc’s...

In-laws swung by, and MIL brought a huge tray of fresh, homemade pierogis and another huge tray of cabbage rolls.

I’m probably gonna overdose tonight.

I agree and I typically wouldn’t blame a doctor but I felt she was particularly arrogant and particularly wrong and I have so few victories that I’m taking this one...even though it’s my son’s victory.

Pierogis > Cabbage Rolls

Agreed, but my MIL’s cabbage rolls are ridiculous.

You have to declare your favorite pierogi filling, though.

I had one with meat, potato, and sauerkraut once. It was great.

Did the inlaws leave after dropping those off?

Yes, after a couple hours.

My MIL loves me (she’s one of like 3 people) and this is her way of showing it. She actually went to culinary school in Poland. Her cooking is amazing. Wonderful for my diet, too, believe me. Sometimes I’ll try telling her I’m watching what I eat, and she looks at me like I’m an alien.

Good choice. Mine are sauerkraut and mushrooms.

Thats a double win then. Good food and inlaws gone relatively quickly
