Remember the drought of the summer of 2012? If you look on Google Maps Street View and the pictures are from 2012, you can be reminded of how bad it really was. Kenosha looks like it's in Nevada.

We are supposed to drive up to Oak Brook in a few hours. I'm seriously considering just going up tomorrow. Our Son freaks out during storms. Radar does not look promising and I already saw the Weather Service will likely be activating spotters.

Thank God the city redid our sewer line within the year, no standing water on my block.

Still crossing my fingers going into the basement though as my backyard looks like rice paddies

How big of a bitch are you and your kid? It's a ride to Oak Brook. You aren't driving into Oklahoma with a PDS warning.

We're headed out. Looks like the next round of storms are going to be more south and we'll be gone before they get here. Whatever.

You must be on floodplain.

Since I got up this morning, my house has been stuck in red on the radar all fucking day and night. It’s unbelievable how the storms have tracked in the same narrow band for 24 hours.

Nope, but as I discovered this summer, overflow from about 6 back yards runs a found and down both sides of my yard. I'll be talking to the local engineering dept about fixes.

I took a picture but it’s too dark and you can’t get the flow that the video shows.

Shoutout to RPB.

Also the most depressing Springsteen song ever.

And that’s saying something.

Water coming up through basement shower drain, happens every few years I guess. We clear a nice path for it to go down into the sump pit when we think it may be a problem. Clean up isn't great, but not terrible either.

I dunno what he was so pissed about, "and for my nineteenth birthday I got a union card and a wedding coat". Almost impossible for a 19 year old to get a decent union wages job nowadays.

I'm doing alright on the high ground. Sump pump is working it's ass off but all the drain tiles are keeping up, thank God.
