As far as tags go, "whatever you drive, drive a Firestone" has to be on the short list for most awful. It makes no fucking sense.

No shit it doesn't.

I think it was brainstormed in a meeting as 'whatever you drive, drive on Firestone' but someone recorded it wrong and they were like "TOO LATE NOW!"

Except they're trying to sell not just their tires, but their full-service garages as well. They're trying to get you to equate "Firestone" with "car repair". Driving "on a Firestone" keeps the brand centered on just tires.

I agree that the line they ultimately went with doesn't accomplish the campaign's overall goal very well.

Yeah, Id say that was a pretty poor effort then.

Can't recall the last time I saw one of those joints.

I still miss Schlotzsky's though.

I'm seeing more taglines that consist of adjectives employed as verbs and nouns. Something like "Awesome your amazing."

"If you can't find it at Binny's, it's probably not worth drinking." Who doesn't love a tagline that second-guesses itself?

In their defense, not only do they have MANY items in stock, but if its out there and its legal to have in the US they can likely order it for you.

we get bombarded with drug commercials and drug addiction commercials side by side and the tag lines are horrible.

however, my wife just informed me that today while my 6 yr old was coloring she goes "I USE CRACK COCAINE"

From a couple years ago during Sox games...something to this effect -- "When you're thinking about baseball, Chris Sale and the White Sox are at the top of your list. And when it comes to milk, make sure Dean's is at the top of your list."

And it's easy to steal from there. :)

That's rather troubling.

I always enjoyed the "feeling a little Mexican" part.

I always wondered if they got food for the little Mexican as well.

"Drive is the intensity to make achievement succeed." It sounds like a John Cena promo.
