Does that rank above or below the Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens (could've been Ricky Zuela) and the Big Bopper plane crash?

The plane crash was worse, because it gave us American Pie.

Did you ever break down the lyrics of American Pie?

And then did you ever break them down "on weed?"

I-N-I!

After I was there for a year or two, O'Malley's changed its name to "Six Feet Under", after some kid got meningitis from breathing the trapped, smoky air down there.

Wow. Sometime I think back and find it just amazing the amount of smoke one would breathe during a night out at the bars.

Today, people would shit their pants.

White Horse = Gone.

Gully's = Changed into the Library, which was one of my favorites, along with Joes' Brewery, Bub's, Cochrane's (on Wright), and, later on, the Clybourn and Legends (2 newer placed built in the late 90's).

Never was a big fan of R&R's. Spent a lot of time my 1st 2 years in Kam's and CO's, but not when I got older.

Great fucking times!

CO's, O'Malley's (never drank The Wall), R&R's, and Gully's were the places for us.

I found Kam's disgusting even then - and I'd go to O'Malley's.

I still went to Kam's, though.

O'Malley's closed a couple years after I graduated. It was a disgusting basement but I loved that place.

Yeah. I think I filmed a music show there for PBS's New Expressions.

It's all nice down there now. Not so much then.

I played a jazz gig there one night. Good crowd. Bass player was workin' speed and weed ... odd fella.

There was this shithole bar in Palatine that we went to for the longest time I think it was called idols and let me tell you how much I fucking hated that place but you know the wife loved it and we had to be there 4 nights a week until fucking 3am and yeah man I was working an 8 to 5 in the city and Jesus Christ it was ridiculous and I probably almost died a couple hundred times from lack of sleep and god knows what was in the air of that place because it smelled like stale cigarettes and old barf and meth and I'm pretty sure the bartender was a total homo not that there's anything wrong with that but the chicks there was always fawning over this dude and let me tell you he knows exact what a couple penetration in his ass feels like you could tell by the way he insisted on having someone play that goddamn nickleback song over and over you know the one this is how you remind me and that stupid three doors down song and incidently my wife and her weirdo friend dragged me to a show of theirs at the world or Tinley park or whatever the fuck it was called and dude it was easily the worst fucking concert I've ever been to I actually fell asleep it was that goddamn boring I would have rather shot myself in the face with an animal tranquilizer dart and drove cross country than sit thru that shit again I mean what was I thinking going to that bullshit and I'm pretty sure I paid something stupid like 30 bucks for lawn seats and who know what for parking and it was a total waste because I was literally too bored to get drunk you hear me too bored to get drunk and if you think that's impossible or stupid then you should go to three doors down and nickleback and tell me. WHat?

There were a few flat tires, but there were plenty more 10's.

Tri Delts were where it was at. That and the Kappa girls I believe.

Their house looks nicer than it used to. Must have done some remodeling.

One of my neighbors is a Tri-Del from UofI circa Dr. Ken era.
