Was just at 7-11 and the guy in front of me clearly stole a snickers bar while the clerk had his back turned. I laughed but didn't say anything, and the bandit made off with his loot shortly thereafter. Should I have said something?

Where in the law books does it give you permission to start shooting people over petty theft? If you are concerned about laws being broken, call the police. That's their job.

7/11 are independently owned and most are family business.
They are stealing from the owner not some faceless corporation. I'd love to whip someone's ass over a candy bar. What a tale that would make.
