They'll always be undercut by North Dakota and the Gulf.

As mentioned we get 5% of our oil from the MidEast. MidEast oil primarily serves Eurasian neeeds.

Well I heard an ad this weekend against the Cook County beverage tax saying that a $0.99 two liter may double in price. Oh well, I live in Kane County and don't drink soda.

It's on juices and even water as well. Other than leash, if it comes in a bottle, it's affected by the tax.

I was pretty mad when I got to Chicago last week. I filled up late in Indiana so I could beat the Chicago area taxes. Gas was 2.17 at my moms! All the way back through Ohio 2.23 was tops. PA here I sit at 2.49!

So much for isolating Qatar:

Saudis have the same jet (and with a ratio of 8:1 on them)

Although 36 F-15s is a lot for a nation Qatar's size. I really wish this one gets blocked as you know Qatar will turn them right over to Iran to reverse engineer.

I don't think that there is going to be a hot war between the Saudis and Qatar or any other state. Probably just muck along, and have proxy attacks like they have had for decades.

This will be interesting to follow.

It is no secret that Qatar has been a haven for extremists groups while also using its state run Al Jazeera network to try to create disruptions in rival states.

Don't take investment advice from Ogie....

I did call this one wrong, this is why I only invest in index funds.

The Gulf crisis is not over, but I guess the real lesson here is fracking changed everything about the oil market as without it, this would be enough to spike prices.

WTH, Ogie? We're down $5 from when you made your call on WTI.

CF members are losing their shirts going long on crude. We're at $42.73 today.

Qatar has been given 48 hours to respond to Gulf country demands. No word on what happens after 48 hours.

They are only afloat due to large subsidies that they receive. The super-connectors (Qatar, Etihad, and Emirates) fly with about half the planes empty.

If they played by the rules of every other airline, they would be bankrupt, but the oil rich monarchs write them checks to cover their debt.

The problems with them aren't even political, it's that their model is failing. They were built on the idea of using 2 jumbo jet routes to connect large cities via their hub, but passengers have spoken and they prefer mid-sized long range jets that fly point to point rather than via a hub on a larger A-380.

That is why the A-350 and 787 are raking in over a thousand orders each whereas the A-380 and 747-8 are both being discontinued before they reached break-even for Airbus or Boeing.

Have you ever been to Israel? You haven't? Well then SHUT UP about the airline business and American police because until you've been to Israel I'm gonna talk down to you condescendingly on those subjects.
