When he got cast for the prison show Oz he told the producer that he had one caveat: "I don't do rapes, and I don't get raped."

Local boy Mel Chancey is tougher than Chuck Zito.

Mel once split a guy's head open with the ball peen hammer that he always carries in his vest at the old "don't go in there" bar, aptly-named "The Zoo" in Alsip (was at 123rd & Cicero).

Mel should have served 7 or 8 years fed time, he snitched his way out to 2.5 years.

He is a 60+ year old man. There are literally thousands of guys tougher than him.

Some of the worst Stern shows were when Chuck Zito would be on the air talking about how tough he was, while Howard was kissing his ass.

Worked out at the same gym as Mel back in the day. Some of the stories are nuts.
