The video doesn't look good, but I'm not sure about the context. If you have a young family, and there are teens having a battle royale in your yard then I can see why he would freak out.

My issue is that the media, and the lawyer has spun this as a cop targeting black people. Doesn't it seem like this guy would have gone after anyone? Or are we just to presume - racist, who targeted due to racial profiling.

The video captures none of what happened before it got to the point where the kid was getting choked. If the expectation is now that police must be generous with their own private residence while off duty or eose they are vicious racists then there is no hope for a reasonable coming together on this issue.

Police reform is not black teenagers just helping themselves to whatever they want at off duty cops' homes.

If he says four words in the beginning: "I'm calling the police" the kids both run away. Or if that prick(who allegedly is a public servant) and his wife simply ask what's going on, the kid tells them and they can proceed peacefully.

That's all the info you need, but the media of course is going to bury that part of the story and run wild with the "inncoent teenager randomly choked" angle.
