Do it.

It might be the best city for visiting in these entire North Americas.

It's not even the best city in the province.

Although I did not try the strip clubs of Montreal

I enjoyed Old Quebec when I was there a few years ago. The rest of the province can suck it.

Stayed at the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac.

We're happy for ya!

I apologize but I cannot go there. I am honoring CH's protest and will not return until the Nordiques are back.

This sounds about right, but there's no shame in being a nice little town when the nice little town is really old and unusual. I hope to make it to both (plus Trois-Rivieres) as soon as I can. I'll be there for a Quebec Nordiques game one day, God willing.

It's a shame that Montreal has taken a bit of a tumble in the last 40 years because the shithead separatists had to run the English speakers out.

It was noticeable that people fly the province flag in Quebec and the Canadian flag once outside the province.

For you parents of youngsters out there, Mc Gill University is about $17K for a world class education. It is a beautiful campus in a city douchebag thinks is world class. It is also only a two hour commute from O'Hare with double digits amount of flights per day. You can go there for an out the door price less than U of I.

We definitely took notice.

Good to know.

Btw, when did Ignatius bring in the 18 Dominicans to get the place up to snuff?

Not sure but my boy had two of them last year. They were the kindest, smartest and most caring teachers I could hope to instruct my child. They were both young and highly intelligent. Their presence is immediately identifiable because of their clothing but I think it good for the school to have religious orders teaching classes, especially classes beyond religion.

Did they use their religion to take advantage and get teacher jobs?

Post subject:  Re: Quebec City Trip

with a 46% acceptance rate, I'd bet a good student from a foreign country would be a shoe in for entry

I doesn't have a sexy brand name in the US but I think it is a respected diploma across the globe and by people in the know here

Of course they are highly intelligent.

They were educated by other Dominicans.

McGill is a great school. My company is headquartered in Montreal and we recruit heavily from there each year. These kids coming out of there can run circles around me with what they are able to do in my field. Such a big difference compared to what you think an American student coming out of college would be.

For an even more authentic experience, jump over to St. Pierre & Miquelon. QC is a fun little place - SP&M is amazingly laid back and good for a two-night stay.
