Reagan was the right man for the right time. Everyone wanted to forget about the 70s. It was a bad decade for this country for all the reasons we all know. Whatever you may say about his politics, the best thing Reagan did was bring confidence and pride back into this country which was missing for at least 17 years since. As others who lived during Reagan's Presidency, he was a middle of the road president. Not a right wing wacko the extreme left and extreme right would like you to believe. Obama was the same way. The right man for the right time. After Bush W fucked up economically and militarily, whatever you may say about Obama's politics, he was the guy the country needed that portrayed a calm confidence and competency compared to the previous fuck ups. |
