Friend's dad growing up had a window next to his bed. His definition of proper temperture was if he woke up with a thin skim of ice on the top of his water glass on the nightstand.

I've already been to a half dozen no heat calls
Most are people trying out the heat before it gets really cold and we're too busy to respond immediately.
I'd say trying it out on a day like Wednesday is a good idea, so if it doesn't work you can get help when your schedule suits you.

Does a free cup of "hot chocolate" get me to the top of the list?

Mine too. Going to be 80s rest of the week up here in SE WI. Crazy, but in a good way I guess.

I haven't had my heat or AC on for nearly a month. Lots of betas on this board.

It's 74 out here today. Don't think it's been tripped today.

The humidity has got to go.

Yeah, the one okay thing about VERY EARLY fall is the decent cool breeze coming into your home from windows, patio doors, etc.

I'll consider turning on the heat in mid to late October, if it is especially chilly. Hoodies are comfortable... I'll throw one on if I need it.

I loathe the humidity, but it's really not that bad today. I did nearly cave and throw on the AC this past weekend though.

Same here. My ComEd bill was sliced by 60% from the prior month.

It was awful this morning after the rain. That's why I turned it on. It hasn't been on in weeks. The heat has yet to be turned on.

The dew point is currently at 65. That is pretty high.

The high will be near 90 Weds thru Sun. The AC will be on in my house for sure. I'm hoping it gets nice enough to open up the windows for sleeping, but I'm not optimistic. This hot weather can go away now as we're getting screwed out of perfect weather. The average high for this time of year is low-mid 70s.

I know some people do not like as warm of weather as I do, but low to mid 70's has to be slightly cooler than perfect for you, no?

I prefer maybe about 85°, but I could be okay with high 70's.

AC season, house is 76 if people home, 79 at night. If going to be gone for a while jack it up to 83 (yup). As long as the house isnt hummid inside I am happy during the summer.

Winter season, house is at 67 during day if people are home, 61 at night or if going to be gone a while. kid room gets a space heater to keep it a nice 73 in that room.

having a wifi thermostat w/phone app to control while away is nice and not that expensive (can be had for $70)

Might as well not even use AC or heat at those temperatures. How much colder is your place going to get than 61 at night in the winter and how much hotter than 79 at night in the summer?

Low 70's is about perfect if the sun is shining which is pretty typical in fall.

My folks heated to the temps Pootons did and yes, it will go colder than that depending on none construction and weather.

Bills be damned... House is 72 year around.

If I'm outside, I like the heat, but when sitting on the couch, the colder the better. I'd be fine with the heat lower in the winter, but wife and kids freak out about being cold. Pick your battles.....

Exactly. I want to be comfortable.

Winter: 69 day, 66 night
Summer: 74 day, 72 night.

If I am golfing, cutting the grass, or whatever, bring on the heat. I don't want to sweat while I sit on a couch, and I certainly can't fall asleep if the house is hot and/or humid.

This is the correct answer
If i'm outside doing yardwork, playing basketball or walking my dogs I'm not really bothered if it's 95 out
But I refuse to sit there sweating if i'm inside watching TV

I don't mind 90 mowing the lawn or many other chores around the place but chain saw.. give me 65.

And the AC is pumping today.
