The flaw in you logic is that only one option can apply.

I think it is relative to the particular region you're addressing more than anything. The connotation is different. When i think of supremacists I think of people from rural areas. Probably moreso because the word has historically been used in conjunction with the KKK. When I think of supremacists I've never conceived that they could hail from urban areas. Trump fits this particular description. He hails from Queens which disqualifies him as a white supremacist based upon the intuitive way I have tended to view the term.

LTG, I'd be curious on your thoughts about the differences, if any, between the terms prejudice, racist and supremacist. I view them quite differently as I outlined.

Prejudice pertains to one's belief system. We all hold prejudices.

Racism pertains to prejudice and access denial.

Supremacy pertains to prejudice, racism, and domination. Racism and Supremacy are similar but not quite the same. Supremacy is elevated because supremacists seek to deny the existence of others. Supremacists seek the eradication of those that are not like them. Racists don't. Racists do not wish to wipe out others. They don't seek to interact with people of other races and ethnicities. They also do not want them to acquire power. Racists aren't necessarily uncomfortable with the existence of other groups. Supremacists are however.

Well I think we agree then based on my definitions earlier. I am glad that others believe there is a distinction.

There definitely is a distinction and of the 3 prejudice is the least offensive. Prejudice could be something as simple as not wanting to party with black people. Racism could be not allowing blacks into the party. Supremacy would be maiming and killing blacks once they enter the party. White Supremacists groups hope to wipe out groups that are not like them. The KKK went beyond simple racism by often times committing murder.

Why should victims of racism care that you're too busy to care about or recognize what they are experiencing? This is nothing more than the typical lazy response from someone who didn't give a crap to begin with. "I used to care about racism and hate but _____ lied about it so I stopped caring or listening." Yea, another thing I used to be guilty of. I threw the term race card around a lot. Are there baseless claims of racism? Absolutely. But people take one instance and say "ok, well, they must all be lying!"

The term "race card" is tired as hell. It's grating when I hear it. And about 95.6% of the time when someone uses it you can guess their politics without hearing anything else from them.

I do care or I wouldn't post about it. I live this stuff as we cover race discrimination claims. For instance 2/3 of the claims are absolutely baseless. The remainder are normally pretty weak and either settled out for a nominal amount or withdrawn (admin closures). That means that the vast majority of race based employment claims are fake news. Here's 20 years worth of Federal Government Data to prove my point. Our internal data shows that about 90% of employment claims are a joke, and these are all sorts of age, gender, and race related suits. Funny, in the following link, only about 2% are deemed to have reasonable cause.

ESPN suspended “SportsCenter” host Jemele Hill on Monday for violating the sports network’s social media policy.

Hill tweeted in response to Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ announcement that players would be benched if they did not stand during the national anthem.

"Jerry Jones also has created a problem for his players, specifically the black ones. If they don't kneel, some will see them as sellouts," she wrote.

In a second tweet, Hill said, "If you strongly reject what Jerry Jones said, the key is his advertisers. Don't place the burden squarely on the players."

ESPN found the comments in violation of its social media guidelines. Hill had already run afoul of them when she called President Trump a white supremacist, but she was not suspended.

“Jemele Hill has been suspended for two weeks for a second violation of our social media guidelines. She previously acknowledged letting her colleagues and company down with an impulsive tweet. In the aftermath, all employees were reminded of how individual tweets may reflect negatively on ESPN and that such actions would have consequences. Hence this decision.”

Hill is the co-host of the 3 p.m. PDT “SportsCenter” with Michael Smith.

2 rules at ESPN

1: Don't attack the shield
2: Don't touch advertisers

She violated both of them

Simmons got a 3 week rip once for calling Goodell a liar (he was right), which was honestly less egregious than calling for a boycott of companies which buy time on your network and thus pay your salary.

She RT'ed a list of companies to boycott, which included AT&T and Miller Coors. How many millions do those 2 spend on ESPN each year?

She told the truth in one and correctly identified the issue of the NFL's bags in the other.

Oddly on the Fox sports network, they're making inroads into market share with Shannon Sharpe saying the same things on air.

Ironic

Didn't know that last part. She may as well go play Joan of Arc somewhere else because what she did was a corporate cardinal sin.
