Discussing sports with people you know... so you can maintain discussions and see views evolve over the course of multiple years...versus conversations with randos at bars or places like Reddit where every discussion is simply a thread of each poster expressing a view and no actual discourse. Having 'regulars at a bar' so to speak.

But that is under attack. I'm pretty sure spanky accidentally gave America and those others the idea.
