It's not even banning guns. Any restrictions on gun ownership will fail.

Like Hank mentioned, there are people who think the slaughter of elementary school children was a hoax! There is no hope for any type of gun control.

The mental health problem in this country is hitting a boiling point. And it is being exacerbated by the internet, social media, and the political climate. The total lack of responsibility in today's society is chilling, to say the least.

Yeah that hoax bullshit is very infuriating. Also takes away from the fact the kid was on ssri meds like almost every mass school shooting incident since the mid 90s.

And the government has been shutting down psychiatric hospitals through the last 10 years or so.

You'll always have people who are "normal" acting and seem like responsible people who pass all the tests for gun ownership and then just snap one day.

Part and parcel of living in a land where everyone potentially has the right to own a gun.

Banning all guns just doesn't seem that extreme now, does it?

The slaughter of elementary school children changed nothing. If that couldn't effect change then nothing else will.

Agreed

If we can just go back and forth on gun control for the next 10 pages, I bet tons of minds will be changed. Let's do it

Nevada is an open right to carry state, right?

Sure glad all those gun-toting recreational militia were around to stop this. Besides, chances are the assailant wasn't acting all crazy-eyed when he purchased the guns so no harm no foul.

Quintana would have a better W-L record if he had a conceal-carry permit.

Banning guns is a bad thought. Tighter restrictions is a good idea though. No single person needs to own 10 rifles.

I would hazard a guess the weapon used was illegal to own under any circumstances. It had to be fully automatic.

People are speculating either full auto, or modified AR.

Honestly what difference does full auto really make. If you are indiscriminately firing you can go through a 30 round clip in 10 seconds pretty easily. Full auto is probably like 2 or 3 seconds. The reality for him is he is limited to the number of magazines on hand.

If you are carrying a gun, there should be a law that you also must wear a sport coat.

Discuss.

I am not sure what this guy had but from the sound in the video I saw he was burning through ammo pretty damn fast. He was shooting more than 30 rounds easily without a break. Then pausing then going again.

It wasn't loud enough to be a 60 sounded more like a SAW. Something with box feed I would guess.

The weapon was fully auto and yes such a weapon would have been illegal since 1986.

Why is this person a hillbilly? Seems more like he didn't like country music. Could be a Grateful Dead fan.

I'm sure there are limits to the amount of noise that I am constitutionally protected to make. I can't set up a giant amp and just scream in my front yard.
