Used to skate a lot as a teenager, got back on a board again at 30 after not being on one for a decade at the roselle skatepark, stuck a few clean boardslides and only busted my shoulder once. Anyone on here still
Skate or used to?

I played hours of that game. My junior high girlfriend would get irritated because I’d play it while being on phone with her. To be fair she would call 3 Times a night.

i was getting decent at vert, but street skating was too tough. i had a cheap board but i've always been a fan of the craft. i watch the "x-games" sometimes and even get the urge to get a board again. but that would be a huge disaster for me now.

My son was a long boarder.

I'm old enough that vert didn't really exist when we started to skate. We used our boards as transportation. We liked to skate down the big hill going east from Terminal Park in Skokie. Also, there is a staircase outside a building on the Northwestern campus that has a decorative ramp in the middle with stairs on either side. There are landings and in the middle of each is a concrete pot with a small tree. We would skate down the ramp and you had to duck around each tree on the landings.

The first I ever heard of "vert", although it wasn't called that at the time, was in Skateboarder magazine. 7-Eleven always carried Skateboarder, I think because it was published by the parent company, Southland. We saw these guys in California skating dried up pools. These were the Craig Stecyk photos that they show in Dogtown and Z-Boys.

We didn't know what to think about that shit.

Skate or Die 2 had the best theme song. I used to play both of these games a ton back on the original NES.

Our son has slowed down on his boarding but he taught himself a lot of moves from watching YouTube. He really wants to go back to the skatepark in Madison. Lot of cool guys there who helped him out.

my daughter who is 10 has stared skating so i've taken her to our local parks and she's gone down the ramps. is working on ollying, so naturally, i've decided as a 37 yr old i need to do this with her.

i still have my olly, lost my heel/kickflip. can 50/50 still. thats about it. i suck at vert. but thats what she wants to do so we are going to learn.

i certainly don't look the part.

I used to skate when I was between 10-13 or so. I was never all that good, actually used it as transportation in the neighborhood. By the
time I got around to getting a good board I was pretty much done with skating. The last board I owned was my favorite one. Part of me
wished I had kept it but the only thing I could do with it now is hang the deck on the wall.

This was the model I had without the rails on it. Was in near perfect condition since I barely rode it.

Pretty sure I spent more time playing the video game 720 in the local arcade than I did going to class my freshman year at Oklahoma.

Too much political stuff in this thread.
