All this JFK file release discussion.

JFK Jr. would be President right now, wouldn't he? He might have been done already instead of Obama and Obama would be President now.

Junior was transitioning out of publishing and planning to run for either Senate or Governor of NY in the new millennium.

So.. NY Governor in 2004 and then, yeah, prolly runs and wins the Dem nom and Presidency in 2008, age 48 .

He should have hired Bob Collins as his personal pilot.

one of the possible, many-several ancillary causes of JFK Jr's crash: dude broke an ankle in a paragliding accident a few weeks prior to his fatal airplane crash.

Paragliding? You're a Kennedy, a family with a long history of premature, violent death in various and sundry manners, and you take up paragliding? Figures.

The blue-hairs and boomers would've reflexively pulled the lever for JFK's kid. Not like JFK was some sort of genius. Don't think there's anything he ever said or wrote in his life that wasn't ghost-written by Ted Sorensen.

It may have crashed and burned but it would have gotten off the ground.

Canada is living the JFK Jr. fantasy we never got to have with Justin Trudeau. It probably would have been about the same: jogging shirtless along riverfronts and selling arms to the Saudis.

The only difference is that I doubt JFK Jr would've tried to suck Fidel's dick as Trudeau did.

given the hyper-early publishing schedule of print magazines, that edition was prolly in the hopper before Junior took his dive in July that year. He was on the verge of selling-off George anyhow; or at least cashing out his interest so he could start his career in politics.

Bill Simmons has one of the guys who started the entertaining SPY Magazine on his most recent pod. Good interview, at least for Simmons. Who tends to go into interviews with specific, Sports-Guy questions and thus steps all over his interview subjects when they start getting into interesting topics that Simmons wasn't prepared to discuss. I still have some Spy magazine special editions in a box somewhere. One of em looks like a Cliff's Notes. I think it was Cliff Notes piss-take on the Brat-Pack novelists (Jay McInerney, Bret Easton-Ellis et al) .

Michael Rapaport beefing with Simmons should be entertaining pod; but Rapaport's so hard to listen to on his own, it ends being a painful listen.

Well, some of us have been talking and, in our professional opinions, we believe you do need a hole - or two - in your head.

Rapaport on his own is tough to listen to.

Rapaport (or should I say 'rapapwah') as a guest on a podcast is usually a great listen. Apparently Simmons is butthurt with him because he went to Barstool.

He failed it multiple times.

But at that time in his life he was a playboy banging a new chick nightly. That's not an exaggeration either. That's literal.

Too bad didn't make it to 2017. He could have been in Playboy.
