So, the first accuser has come forward publicly, and it's a woman who had a consensual relationship with him on multiple occasions? It was an "abuse of power".

So, we are really at the point where virtually any workplace action is now abuse.

I understand that he almost certainly deserved to be let go immediately for other stuff.

It just seems strange to me that this person came out and said "He tried to sleep with me, and it was consensual, and did it multiple times" and now it's abuse.

Yeah I agree it's sort of puzzling. But at the same time an abuse of power argument makes sense given the gender and age dynamics. He could have crushed her career aspirations on a whim if she rejected his advances. It's tough to report him because no one is going to sack the company's profit machine just because an intern or whatever is complaining.

The locking the door allegation sounded a lot like rape and whatever he did at the Olympics came close to it.

I did well as a younger man and kid and if I were single I would do well in my age bracket but 18-22 year old womenn are not falling over themselves to sleep with me. The same is true for nearly all men. If you're sleeping with one that age it's because you're their boss, rich or they need a place to stay. Matt Lauer used his power to have sex with them and when they resisted it sounds like he used force. Knowing that no one would believe them over him. It's the same reason Bill Cosby was able to rape 60 women.
