I think these are the types of personal attacks that people are suggesting are bad for the board.

Also, he’s only 1 of those 3. No trifecta.

This is actually a perfect example of what often happens here.

Using this example....would you "use the ignore button" while continuing to visit the bar?
Or just stop visiting the bar?

See....that's why a lot of people just stop visiting this bar. You can't use the "ignore button" effectively to solve the problem in a setting like this. The small, extremely loud group of assholes at that one corner table at the bar will still dominate the entire scene, even if you try and ignore them. They pick arguments with anyone at the bar that seems like a potential adversary.....and sometimes they even pick on the people sitting at their table! (yawn) Because that's their agenda for the night.....insults and conflict. And unfortunately, those people are allowed to come this bar, every night, and continue that agenda. All the time.

Well, when other regular patrons at the bar get sick of this type of behavior...they usually stop frequenting that bar.
Because, that's life baby.

The bar hasn't changed much. I don't know, maybe you have. Some new faces replaced some old ones, that's about it. Oh, and people aren't banned from the bar for months for no reason(JBills).

Still a great bar.

Probably just me though.

I actually agree with FavreFan86 on this. I was away from the board for quite a while, and although I've missed a lot, it's still the same usual suspects with the same arguments. I'm sure the 3 wisemen can confirm, but I'd imagine that the board traffic is the same if not busier than before the big change.

Yeah, bars get new customers that replace ones that left. I guess that's a foreign concept to you?

When three old regulars buy a bar it probably doesn't change much. Same here. But I guess minor changes like dropping a word and changing the URL are big deals to some.

This supports what I'm saying. Maybe people just differ on who the usual suspects are.
People get tired of the same assholes taking over every single thread.

I made no reference to the amount of board traffic.

Who are the same assholes taking over every thread? Not too many posters who like posting in every section.

The people that are unhappy with the changes will be unhappy about it. I guess that's a foreign concept to you?

Because your first suggestion was to "block" those people at the bar.
Pick a lane.

MANY are saying that this is the greatest bar. Everyone is welcome to pull up a seat and have a drink. Like most establishments and the world there are like minded people and people who view the world differently than you. We have MANY quality people who post here. One of the greatest things about our community is it's diversity. From the way we look and live to our backgrounds. Another is every opinion is challenged. Those things could be a little different from the bubble of the community we live in but I think it's a couple of reasons this message board community has lasted this long and will continue to last into the future.

But I'm gonna say that it's a lot of the people that don't visit the bar anymore.

So everything you moved on from in life you actively dislike now? Odd.

It's also weird how you have such an aversion to being specific when it comes to complaints about this board. Why is that? Passive aggression isn't a good trait here.

I don't personally care who takes over threads. If it's a thread I don't care to take part of anymore, I just leave it alone.

But I could see how that could piss someone off. This board is an acquired taste, and not many can handle it over the long haul.

There is literally nothing happening now that hasn't happened for the 13 years I've been here. Some things have probably been cleaned up because many of us have met and no one gets banned now.

"favorite pizza place: BAN ME!!!!!!!!"

Come on. You LITERALLY think this place is the same as it was when there were a few people that complained non-stop about everything BF did?

Of course not. This place has changed a lot.

I think it is better and it is getting better daily. Without calling out individuals what happens today that never happened in the past?

You may be on to something.

I liked the politics threads when they were a novelty. Now that they’re ubiquitous and it’s the same people saying the same shit it gets very tiring quickly.

The rest of the threads are fine though, imo.

Works for me.
