I agree. If it's something that comes up- and we do discuss current events here- by all means talk about it.

Spaulding is correct that the political talk has been more intense than ever, but that's par for the course considering who is president.

One of the great things about this community is there is something for everyone. I've probably looked at the Julie thread 5 times but it's the most popular thread in board history. Whenever you all talk about music and a few other things I stay away because I have no interest or clue about those things. I generally avoid the Cubs vs Sox stuff. There are MANY other topics or debates that interest me. That's how I can get 30k deleted and put 30k posts back up in no time.

We've had political talk for 11 of my 13 yeard posting here. This has been a hybrid board for a decade.

The sports radio landscape, outside of waddle & Silvy, is absolutely terrible. The sports radio threads used to drive this board.

That’s why spanky had no answer when I kept asking him who the assholes were who ruined every thread. I don’t know of a poster who posts in every section.

Part of the reason that this board has changed is because overall the sports landscape here is pretty bad. The sports radio landscape, outside of waddle & Silvy, is absolutely terrible. The sports radio threads used to drive this board. The Bulls are terrible, the Bears are rebuilding, the Hawks are in last place or second last place, the White Sox are a couple years away from being good. The Cubs won the World Series, but last year were pretty mediocre the first half and even in the second half I don't think very many expected them to win a World Series again. The politics threads are awful. Most of them are a waste, but they're easily avoided for the most part. I guess this place is what you make of it. If you think of it as a circle jerk with the same few people posting gifs and every thread, then that's what you're going to believe regardless of what you read.

I know The Score has issues in their lineup, but the reason there is like 1 post about W&S every month is because they have never said anything interesting or funny in their entire life.
