What the fuck? The details are horrific.

And what's with the hair?

Mowing the lawn at midnight. And no one complained to the cops? That right there proves that California needs to be booted out of the U.S.A. .

It's a very strange story. Most of them are grownups. Have you seen the weird photos of them all dressed alike an smiling at Disney? I can't tell the 29 year old from the 13 year old. They look like a cult. And the dad's haircut is right out of Dumb and Dumber.

every photo of them is weird. there is nothing that doesn't scream Warren Jeffs level crazy disturbed family torture.

the dad would watch his sister-in-law take showers and not let her watch the kids.

the hair, though, is the easiest dead giveaway.

I didn't read the story but quickly saw a headline this morning these goofs lived in Texas previously.

Unfortunately, this is just another case of 'wait, what?...but, why?'
These fuckers had their reasons, and those reasons will NEVER make sense to us.
Good luck to the offspring, they're going to need it.

The craziest part is the parents didn't think they were doing anything wrong.

Of course. The majority of these people with 27 kids are religious nutjubs and god told them to have that many kids

The home school the father was the 'principal' of was deemed non-religious, but his parents in West Virginia have said that "God called them" to have 13 kids and others have said the kids were forced to memorize long Bible passages or some shit.
I'd bet there is a weird underlying religious aspect to it some way or the other.

Well then I think we have identified the problem.

yeah the pics of the kids were really strange. So sad. I cannot imagine the level of sickness that would lead parents to shackle their kids and eat food in front of them but not let them have any.

The male kid with the glasses is allegedly in his late 20's.
Not to be edgy, but I wouldn't be surprised if incest comes to light.
Just a reminder...this wasn't some remote compound in the middle of nowhere.
A normal subdivision where the houses are very close to each other.
 :(

Unfortunate fact: beni's haircut until he was in 5th grade looked exactly like pedo father. Ahh the early 70's.

Edit per USA Today, 10 Acts parents are accused of committing:

1. Committing a lewd act on one of the children, who is younger than 14. Only David Turpin is suspected of this.
2. Tying them up with rope. After one of the children learned how to untie the rope, they began using chains and padlocks.
3. Beating and strangling the children.
4. Feeding them little and eating apple and pumpkin pie in front of them while they were hungry.
5. Punishing them for getting water on their wrists, which was perceived as playing with water.
6. Not allowing a shower more than once a year.
7. Buying toys but leaving them unopened and preventing kids from playing with them.
8. Denying them doctors' and dentists' visits for at least four years.
9. Forcing them to stay up at night and sleep during the day.
10. Providing a poor home-school education — to the point that some of the children did not know what a police officer was.

missed this one originally

Louise Turpin's brother told "Inside Edition" that dressing the siblings alike was done partly to position the family as future reality TV stars.
