Trump can hold that title. Honestly I think if Hillary was elected she would be the most reprehensible human being to ever hold that office. She has no redeeming qualities as a person. It's hands down for you but that is not the case for everyone.

It already has. I haven't been involved in these threads for awhile but the whole "identity" politics stuff is grates on me a bit.

The groups that have chosen to vote Democratic in large blocs have been traditionally groups that were shunned by Republicans. That is a historical fact.

The Republican Party has chosen to be the party of White Men. That is a historical fact. When it works they celebrate (As many white men on here are choosing to do now). When it doesn't they scream bloody murder and claim that the other guy is playing "identity politics".

If Republicans had opened their doors to other groups they'd have more support from those groups.

Hillary Clinton destroyed Trump during that first debate. If anyone had doubts as to whether he was up to the job they were affirmed following that first debate.

People wanted that asshole and now they got him and it seems like there is a bit of buyer's remorse and guilt tripping going on.

As far as worse candidate goes its simply invalid to keep suggesting that. Mondale won all of one state (his own). There was a red blue divide even then and he still lost by 48 states.

Nixon was never well liked either and the country was in the throes of its most unpopular war ever and McGovern still got blasted.

I'm not arguing identity politics. I'm saying the identity that the Democrats are taking (especially in this last election cycle) is a bad one. I don't think it was bad in the past, even when I did not agree with it. It did not and will not appeal to voters that they usually can get. They are now excluding and turning away voters they once had.

Nixon's approval rating dipped below 50% for a period in 1971. it climbed steadily during 1972 and its safe to say that McGovern's ineptitude as a candidate had something to do with it.

he reached 60% in the first half of 1972, before McGovern was nominated. His climb in approval was the result of policy successes he had in that year. Look at the 1972 graph to see that his rise is consistent throughout the year and first reaches 60% before the nominee was named for the Dems.
