Been a lot of this lately it seems.

Speaking from some experience a nasty break sometimes doesn't hurt for a few hours.

Yikes...

Tough "break" for a guy like him. That's probably a career ender. I liked his toughness in the Boston series last year when he came in after not playing for months because Payne and Grant were completely inept.

You can't say it's a career ender DB. Gotta do an x-ray and CT scan and see which route Canaan is comfortable taking. Paul George and Gordon Heyward have had similar injuries and it looks like 2 out of 2 will be just fine. Doctors can do so much more than they could 20 years ago.

Heyward & George are making near max salaries and have teams invested in them for years. Canaan is just a guy playing on 1 year deals and struggling to stay in the league. He's probably done.

That's an excellent point. His chances of receiving offers to be the backup to the backup are probably gone after what happened tonight.
