I turned the TV off during the parade of the trophy and went upstairs. Wound up watching 2 episodes of Maury with my wife and went to sleep.

My wife isn't one for serialized TV shows...she watches a bunch of HGTV when I'm not around, but other than that, she almost never has it on anything other than shit my kids like to watch.

I have never seen a second of the show....everything I've heard about it on social media and the crap written in this thread tells me that will continue.

I am viewing Pioneer Woman's cooking show... she says things that just aren't true and then goes off on these stupid stories that are so canned and flat, but I find I can't turn it off because I am waiting for the next stupid thing she does. Anyone else have shows like this that they can't turn off?

Edit: She calls the "Big Game" USC vs ASU.

Her recipe for barbecue chicken thighs is a good midweek dinner but I can see where she'd be annoying on a show. I didn't even know she had a show.

I remember seeing some of her stuff years ago when it was just a blog or something. She’s done a hell of a job marketing herself into quite the cottage industry. No way I’m watching that though.

My hate watch now is the blackhawks.

Byron Allen Comics Unleashed... as you would expect, these guys aren't funny at all, but the worst part is the way they get introduced. There's no flow between the panelists -- it is an abrupt end to one discussion, and a very obviously pointed question to start up the next bit.

Byron: Hey there Bob, how are you enjoying married life?

Bob: a 90 second bit about married life

Byron: Joe, I hear you are planning for retirement.

Joe: a 90 second bit about retirement

Byron: Mary, is it true you hosted Thanksgiving last year?

Mary: a 90 second bit about Thanksgiving

And the whole time Byron is laughing like everything he hears is the funniest jokes of all time. Some of the panelists do better than others in pretending things are funny.

I don't think they've filmed any new episodes of that show in 8-10 years, but yet it's still on TV. Everything is just Allen teeing up questions so the comics can do a bit from their act.
