In the past I have gotten nominal valued gift cards and Omaha Steaks packages. I am not really in a position where I would be getting a lot of great
stuff. This year I have gotten a bottle of Chardonnay, a couple of gift cards ( including one from my boss ), and today I had a supplier send me a large carving chefs knife with my last name engraved in the handle. That's a new one on me. I bought my boss a handle of rum. What about you folks?
Anything interesting that you could admit on an anonymous message board?

One business partner always sends a selection of BBQ sauces. Apparently his family owns a business that makes the stuff. I also got a giant bottle of olive oil, which made the wife happy.

Most business associates send popcorn tins, cookies or an array of chocolate sweets, which just end up in the break room.

Some of our dealers need to learn that I like whiskey.

I don't like popcorn at all but got an enormous tub of it. I'm indifferent to pistachios but got an enormous bag of them. I'm not a big cookie guy but got a big ass box of them too.

It's all bullshit.

I haven't been to any of those Long Grove shops in years. All I know is that good olive oil is very expensive.....and it goes great with my wife's homemade bread.

Nothing this year. Hopefully we'll be in the black next year and we'll be tossing some lavish gifts around.

This is my first time doing this, I have a staff of four: the two who are animal lovers I got dog treats from the local canine bakery, the two who are not I got chocolate from the local candy shop. I also got each of them $20 Wawa or Sheetz giftcards (it's a bit of an inside joke as there is a debate in my office about Sheetz vs. Wawa).
They got me a giftcard to a local restaurant and a giftcard to an escape room (a date night theme for my wife and me)

Doesn't like popcorn, not big on pistachios, or cookies, but likes the Packers. FF is a communist.

I received an Omaha Steaks bundle and a pretty sizable bonus. I'll pickup up some giftcards and cigars for my crew this weekend.

we have different areas of practice at this place. One area heavily uses vendors. The vendors always send stuff. One sent several bottles of alcohol. I am not in that area of practice.

I'm lucky if I don't get an annual kick in the nuts.

My secretaries love whoopie pies that I buy from the amish at the weekly farmers market in the summer. I got them a dozen gourmet whoopie pies from a place in maine and a gift card. I don't want my subordinates to ever get me presents. While we are friendly, I think it might complicate things down the line for workers with whom I may be less friendly.

Yes, please do start that thread. I'm not in the Double Secret Probation FB chat anymore, but I'd love to make it there for the Bears game(s) if AJ duty allows.

Popcorn and cookies for me, whiskey for FF. Thats a trade that is a win win.

I run the purchasing over here, so I always get tons of stuff. This month so far I got a tin of Garrets mixed, several boxes of Fannie May, about 6 pounds of cashews, couple sausage and cheese things from that one place, tin of mixed nuts, have been out to lunch several times. I had one supplier buy pizzas for the plant yesterday, and another buy for the office today. I put 99% of these gifts either in the office or in the plant employees lunch room to share. I don't want all this junk food in my house, I will eat every bit of it.
I also got a cheesecake tower from Elis. And I got 3 boxes of those fancy gift wrap kits. I took one of those home. Got a calendar, box of high end chocolate from some place called
Vosges, came in a nice carton I am going to re-use. Today we got a box of hershey miniatures, at least 2 pounds, and a bag of lindt truffles and some Godiva chocolates.

I forgot about the tray of cookies and the wine. And one place sent us a chocolate fountain complete with fruit and other sweets we can dip in there. That was set up yesterday. Place was up for grabs. Chocolate everywhere. And i got a few gift cards.

If my vendors don't each send me a 4 lb tub of butter cookies, I spend 20% less with them the following year.

I'm in a regulated industry, so we cannot accept gifts from outside. My Manager is buying the steaks we'll grill Monday night at work, he rarely skimps. I only exchange with one coworker, we're pretty close, usually ammo and restaurant gift cards.

Exactly. Buncha garbage.

Why do I want a shit-ton of cookies and sweets from everybody when I wont eat them all?

Useless waste of money and effort.

Pitt instituted a policy to avoid “issues” and we can’t accept shit anymore really. We squeak things in at conferences is about it.
