Was passing through Crystal Lake when sirens went off. Warning till 6:45 for SE McHenry County and I see there was a tornado touchdowns in Elgin and Countryside (according to radioman911.com).

We have confirmed four additional tornadoes from Wednesday (bringing our total up to 11 now):
-EF-0 from Carol Stream to Glendale Heights
-EF-0 from Itasca to O'Hare Airport
-EF-0 from O'Hare Airport to the southeast side of Des Plaines
-EF-0 in Streamwood (with strong straight-line winds of up to 75 mph occurring in Hanover Park immediately after this tornado lifted)

The highest temperature reliably recorded on Earth is 129.2F (54C) in Death Valley in 2013. A century earlier a high temperature in Death Valley reportedly reached 134F but many modern weather experts have rejected that claim along with other high summer temperatures reported in the region that year.

Of course those records are being rejected (by some)...they don't fit the narrative.

Or your living room/bedroom/car as a tree limb crashes through your window. 70-80mph sustained wind is more than enough to knock down limbs that can cause serious damage when they fall.

BTW, officially 13 tornadoes from last week Wednesday. 72 this year which is a record number thru mid-July for the NWS Chicago forecast area.

That 'whirling dervish' over the Tri State threw a tree limb through the roof of a kid's bedroom in Cicero, blew a dump over on its side in McCook, and left 4 homes in Countryside uninhabitable.
