I take things one step further. After a good winter storm, I typically wet the snow down with my garden hose, let it ice up, and then use a hammer and chisel to sculpt the edges for my driveway and walking paths. The whole process typically takes about 9-12 hours. It sucks when the snow is all melted two days later.

it's always healthy for the lawn do a 1 wet cut in the winter. If you mow it when there's snow over it, the grass blades retain more moisture

Put a Hershey Kiss in it first.

Talked to the inlaws tonight. They got stuck in that band of lake effect snow yesterday and today that just sat on top of their county. They were at close to 40 inches of snow.
