i got 469! they said it was good, i dont know. i guess it prequalifies me for what they call "flex APR' which is supposedly a new service they offer to people with high credit scores.

Mine is not great, but when we refied our house the mortgage guy told my wife her score was the highest he had seen in his 35 years in the business.

i would have reminded her how you pay all the bills and she owes you one right there in front of the financial officer.

this is quite true. it also depends where you work. i was at a SHITHOLE company years ago, something like 680 credit. Quit, got hired by a financially competent outfit and 3 months later my score went up 40 points.

still, hate the premise. if you match the company file your employer has, with our criminal records, and then factor in our credit score, you would have a nice little social credit index on everyone. so glad they dont do this.

You still have to know some important people inside that bank.

Late in his life, my dad's score was 830. Having zero utilization other than what he charged to his 2% CB card each month, and a couple of lines over 45 years old will do that.

When we bought a car a few years back the sales guy said my wife's credit was a bit better than mine...despite the fact that we are both on all the same bills and she hadn't worked full time in 12 yrs.

if your credit is good enough, you dont need credit. if its too low, youre too fucked to have credit.

I've had a perfect 850 a few times in the past year. Credit scores are a compete joke and I detest them. My score once dropped by 20 points and no one at Experian could explain why.

830/850, 850/900, where we have been for the past many years. The credit card company report blurbs state that our score is hurt by not having any installment loans :?:

That's true. Diversity of credit types is part of the score.

I have a buddy who is a dave ramsey worshipper. he wanted to have an indeterminable score. The issue is this one debt never went off his report in the time he was expecting and so instead of indeterminable he had really bad credit for some time. He could not build until it happened. and then it happened and when he went to go get manual underwriting, none of them would do it...even the company that ramsey advertised to do it. So he finally had to build up his credit again, and was able to build 4 years after he bought the land. Was pretty funny.

I have no idea if we have good credit or not. in 2020 when we refi'ed it was in the 800's. not even sure what a good score or not.

I get that but not going to take out a loan I don't need just to raise my credit score. My loan payment history long with current credit activity should suffice.

i had my score go up my 50 points after I put $10k on them once. They really don't like when your utilization is 0.

2%, just like the perfect inflation.
